Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero, an American actor and singer, was a model in the past. Most famously, she is known for her performance in Prince's 1984 movie Purple Rain as well as being the singer-in-chief of Apollonia 6, a girl group. It was among the many female performers who gained from Prince's association in the 1980s. After appearing in minor films (and reportedly refusing to participate in her role in the Purple Rain film Under the Cherry Moon), she was cast in the 1985-1986 show on television called Falcon Crest. Apollonia was finally able to release her debut album in 1988. However, the comparatively insignificant collection of dance and R&B songs did not be a hit with those who bought music, and the album soon vanished off the shelves. She remained active (if slightly underneath the radar) in the role of actress throughout the ensuing decade with small film roles on television and released videos for exercises. Apollonia created a bilingual Spanish and English album called Stay With Me. The singer returned to the university, received a diploma in making films.
